The cats are ready to jump out of the bag. Very soon the world would know the names of at least 2000 tax evaders who had stashed their fortunes in Swiss banks. At least 2000 people across the world are spending sleepless nights after the revelation that a Swiss banker Rudolf Elmer has handed over two CDs containing account details to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. The handing over took place in a London’s Frontline Club in the presence of journalists!!
It is common knowledge that Swiss banks handle millions of dollars in unaccounted money and people take advantage of this fact to evade paying income tax – the Swiss law protects the customers and the banks are duty bound not to divulge the account details of its account holders to anyone else in the world.
It seems Rudolf Elmer has been bitten by the bug of conscience and wants to share his knowledge with the rest of the world. What better way than to pass on the information to Julian Assange who would be verifying the information before making them public.
